Illumination of Mansion

Step into a haunted mansion where every move counts! This horror-puzzle game mixes Minesweeper mechanics with a horror genre atmosphere. Solve mysteries, uncover hidden dangers, and survive the night—if you can.
FEATURES
- 2.5D-Immersive Minesweeper Puzzles!
Navigate hallways and chambers as you tackle classic Minesweeper logic mapped onto a mansion. Simply throw your cards to reveal tiles, count adjacent heyulas, and clear every shadowed corner. No gadgets, no upgrades—just pure puzzle mastery.
- Dark Fantasy Horror Art!
Step into a richly detailed hand-painted fantasy. Encounter stylized werewolves and haunting heyulas against a backdrop of flickering torches. It’s atmospheric mystery, not jump scares.
- Grid-Based Strategy!
Every chamber is a carefully designed grid where one mis-step can send you back to the entrance. Study your patterns, spot safe zones, and push your deductive skills to the limit to illuminate deeper reaches of the mansion.
- Mysterious Creatures & Clever Traps!
Face a enigmatic foes—werewolves prowling the corridors, wardens standing sentinel, and heyulas hidden beneath tiles. Be careful to vents, projectiles, and cracks. Key-finding and Sokoban-style block puzzles add layers of intrigue as you reveal the mansion’s secrets.
If you find it easy, wait for it coming more soon.
Mansion is on Construction
Game is on Early Development some features can be broken just like Mansion itself.
- Do not forget that this is early development build. We have 5-6 mechanic and 20 level. We aim to build bigger mansion with creepier 60+ levels with a lot of different creatures and mechanics.
- Over the last months, we—two solo developer have poured everything we could into this prototype, pushing the limits of Minesweeper puzzles and medieval fantasy art.
- We’re proud of how much mystery we’ve packed in, but please remember: this is just a work-in-progress. There are shady corners, occasional medieval fantasy bugs (just simple game bugs), and plenty of surprises (not pleasant ones) still waiting in the shadows.

Gameplay and Critique ;)
You are our first video commenter. Thank you a lot, its a big honor for us :))
Also thanks for your feedback, lore and story coming soon, but in next update we are adding a unique background for each level. Have any suggestions or feedback on visuals?

That does look really good, I like it a lot.
In terms of the background, I was thinking about the sort of backgrounds you'd see in an adventure game, with things like desks and stuff with items on, pictures on the walls, etc. They _look_ like you can interact with them, although in a lot of games you can't, but it does provide a feeling of _life_ in the game space.
Fun game! I love the base design and the overall game idea here. The current state of the game also looks incredibly polished which feels pretty nice! I'd say that if you were to;
- Make the death of the player more impactful&punishing
- Add a decent lore/storytelling
- Add more music to boost the vibes
I think it'd be a game I'd spend a bunch of bucks on! Keep dev'ing!
Ohh thank you :)
We have some finished tasks about your notes. Like we have new interactive ambient music working with distance to door. Its getting creepier when we closer to the door. We aint not published it yet cause of itch.io index system. And also death sequences and lore is coming too :)
Art of the game is even better while you play it. Even tho it annoys to fail over and over, game gets better as it gets harder, especially when it kinda forces you to use flags. Nice work!
Love your art direction here. :)
Oh thank youu :)
not a minesweeper enjoyer but this was enjoyable to play due to carefully thought levels and difficulty (though annoying at times!). with further development it could be nice to see some form of story telling in the game, when combined with this kind of visuals and atmosphere. keep up the good work!
Thank you Squash, we are saddly happy for annoy you :p
We have some plans for story narration. But we have another priorities now. After finish of the core gameplay we thinking something :)
I likes minesweeper but I play them very carefully and don't have a great memory, so I rely a lot on the flags you put.
Here it's very annoying because you have to switch all the time with E. After some time I just gave up on that and didn't care as when you die, the mines are at the same spots, so it's faster to mark them.
What about, instead of switching to put flag, you have a minimap in the corner where you can directly click to put them? It would even help to see where we are while moving backward!
The second thing that made me stop playing before the end of content is the tiny but violent shake after each jump. I feel it more uncomfortable than juicy. It's not because it shakes but because how the shake is itself. I don't understand why though. Maybe have one of the ease in or ease out hard like it is now but the other smoother?
Also I am surprised the hero jumps from a tile to another. Wouldn't an animation of one big walking step (just a leg rise then lower at the end), with the same shaking, look more natural?
It's just thoughts though. This game deserved to take my time for it. ;)
The game visual are very nice and it's nice overall! :)
(Sorry for my english...)
Heyy, thanks for giving feedback and your kind words. Really appreciated.
1- We are getting a lot of different feedbacks on the flag mode topic, I can assure you you will see a change that will not make you exhausted that much, soon.
2- I just checked the screen shake after movement, this was not intentional and only happens in WebGl build I dont know why, added to the bug list will fix it soon.
3-We tried to give a little goofy effect and try to make it more precise with our style but we will consider it.
Really happy to deserve that time. Again thank you so much for your kind words and visit our Mansion. :)
(Your english is better than mine no worriess)
amazing art style
Sürükleyici ve epey keyifli. Yer yer hırslandım yer yer sinirlendim. Ayrıca internet versiyonunda ekranda hangi seviyede olduğunu gösterir "level counter" yok.
Added can check it now, thanks for feedback.
The visuals have similar vibes to Darkest Dungeon, which I love.
The menus and transitions are clean AF!
The gameplay is intriguing enough to keep me playing, but I love the visuals the most.
fascinating visuals and interesting puzzle mechanics. Excited for the release on steam, good luck
First of all, as someone who doesn’t normally play Minesweeper, I want to say that I really enjoyed this game. The visuals and audio create such a great atmosphere. I also really liked your menu and settings UI design.
Feedbacks on feel and presentation:
The cards we place to remind ourselves whether a tile is safe or a trap sometimes overlap the text showing how many traps are around us, making it hard to keep track.
When we click on a trap tile, a monster immediately appears. It might feel smoother if there were some in-game visual feedback first. For example the tile could sink in slightly before the monster shows up.
The outline indicating our visible area lights up orange when there are no traps nearby and green when there are traps. I think it would feel more intuitive if it were the other way around.
Approaching the stick stuck in the ground expands our field of view, which is a great mechanic. To make it clearer, the lantern in our hand could snap onto the stick tip when we get close.
There are breakable tiles that crack after being clicked a certain number of times. It would be nice to see an animation of them breaking and the character falling through. Also, making those tiles visually distinct would give players better strategic information.
Pressing the button on the floor unlocks the door, but this could be more noticeable perhaps add a particle effect where the lock releases.
When a bloody enemy on a nearby tile catches us, there should be an in-game visual feedback. For example first show the enemy lunging at our character.
When our character walks toward the camera, it would look better to see the front of their body rather than just their back.
Feedbacks on controls:
Do we really need the level to restart when pressing R? I accidentally hit it once and lost all the cards I’d placed. I don’t think this game needs a quick-restart shortcut. Restarting from the menu should be enough.
When I briefly release the mouse cursor, it snaps to the center of the screen and disappears. This shouldn’t happen in “E” mode when placing cards; I accidentally replaced a card on the center tile a few times.
Suggestion:
Right now, when you fail and retry, the traps always end up in the same spots. That’s fine for early levels, but for later ones maybe you could randomize trap placement on each attempt to keep things fresh.
Thank you for all feedbacks it is really valuable for us.
I fixed those issues and started to work on few others.
on webgl build btw (Windows build coming later)
I love playing pure puzzle games, and this one is a great one. I like the different challenge mechanics and level designs. Also, the art and sound designs are perfect!
Love the idea of the game and art it look's great can't wait to try on full release!
As a person who likes minesweeper and turn based puzzles quite a lot this game successfuly uses both mechanics. Really interested to see where the game will lead next. It would be really good if it got even more spooky.
We will do our best to make your wish come true.
Inspired by Minesweeper! I got stuck on the challenging part of putting the box on the button. Best wishes for the game's success.
Thanks for feedback, is there any sort of bug smth or the level is too hard?
The art design is fascinating. There is tension throughout the game. It may be more effective if the tension was intermittent rather than continuous.
Thank you for the feedback, appreciated. (we would be really happy if we can make you play and give feedback continuous also.)
I found the mechanics really unique and enjoyable! I'm looking forward to the full release!
Coming soon
SHHH DONT CALL THEM
A brilliant and unique genre-bender, crafted with passion and love. From the moment you open the main menu, the vision is clear—and it carries through all the way to the end. Can't wait for the full release!
can't also wait for the full release, thanku
Such a creative concept! The way you blended Minesweeper mechanics with a gothic and dark atmosphere is truly impressive. The hand-drawn visuals add a unique sense of mystery. Congratulations for delivering an experience that feels both strategic and immersive. Looking forward to the upcoming levels!
You can be sure that we won't let you look forward too long.
What a twist on Mine Sweeper! Surely will binge it when it's completely out.
